Artificial Intelligence is cool and inevitable
And fine with me
But I have a radical different proposal
Hear me out!
Artificial intelligence is inevitable, it seems like the world is rushing headlong into the Age of Artificial General Intelligence.
This strange and vague term indicates an “intelligent machine of some kind” that eclipses human intelligence in all areas and domains. At least in theory. But if you keep up with the developments in this field, you know that many powerful and brilliant people are working feverishly to get there.
Why?
This question is not asked a lot, not to my knowledge.
I would say that this is a fundamental question.
Actually the essential and existential question.
Why do we want to build a device (and yes, AI is a kind of device) so intelligent, so intellectually powerful that it can take over all aspects of society and the human world.
Already now war machines are in development that are equipped with AI to kill semi-autonomous.
And AI powered sex robots that should keep you awake all night – I’m kind of … kidding.
And teddy bears equipped with ChatGPTs that can entertain your kids all day long.
It reminds me of Viktor Frankenstein and the Terminator movies all rolled into one industry.
And it actually sounds more than a little bit nuts to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I think AI technology as such is very cool and can also be quite helpful in many ways. Even at the toddler-state of LLMs that we have now.
And I am not against technology as such, I love my top notch Apple MacBook Pro, I appreciate my Android phone that keeps me connected, I am excited to see electric cars in the streets, and effective solar panels and wind turbines and nuclear fusion reactors and wind powered cargo ships, high speed internet and effective medicine and all of that.
AI can and will help us humans in many ways to make that happen and much much more, I guess.
But lets not forget one essential aspect of Artificial Intelligence:
It is Cognitive Intelligence, quite brilliant in some ways.
It is digitally based intelligence.
Zeros and Ones.
It has no feelings.
And what about:
Emotional Intelligence.
Social Intelligence.
Creative Intelligence.
Interpersonal Intelligence.
Practical, common-sense Intelligence.
Intra-personal, self-reflective Intelligence.
Intelligence of the Heart.
Existential Intelligence.
I guess there are some more that I have forgotten to mention.
And anyway … in a well developed and advanced human being all of those are “part and parcel”, they are all inherent potentials and not really separate domains. And can be activated and developed by conscious intent and intelligent effort.
So why are we so hellbent on developing artificial devices and machines, when so much potential in ourselves lays dormant or grossly underdeveloped?

I have a radical different proposal.
Let’s do 50/50.
Fifty percent of our time focussed on external, technological development, improvement and innovation of any kind that is for the benefit of mankind and the world at large.
Fifty percent of our time and conscious effort we can spend on developing our inherent potential, our potential capacities and abilities in human and super-human domains.
To my knowledge, human beings that have attempted and accomplished this to maximum capacity are few and far between. And the stories about them sound almost unreal or mythological to the average Joe or Mary of our times.
I propose to shift our attention away from the News and the entertainment of today and open our mind to become curious and actively interested in some of those ancient capacities that lay dormant in us.
Maybe we could find ways to develop those potentials, even today.
That – I’d say – would be really really cool!

What capacities and capabilities am I actually talking about?
I feel that will be the topics of many articles to come, God willing ; D
For now I will just line shortly up what comes to my mind.

Best way to start would be to focus on laying a foundation of human qualities, that would ground any higher-level development in a realistic everyday life.
Just mentioning a few here:
Self-Reflection
Gratitude
Mindfulness
Positive Attitude
Acts of Kindness
Faith and Trust
Sincerity
Equanimity
Perseverance
Gratefulness and Humility
Nothing new here, but all wonderful and necessary qualities to have, if one wishes to develop higher-level spiritual capacities.

The importance of the right Inner Attitude
in the context of my life and the spiritual development.

Besides that I would go about the development and refinement of abilities that we all have anyway to some extent.
Imagination
Inspiration
Intuition

About intuition – the quantum leap from thinking to knowing

imaginatio – Imagination from Steiner to Yantra to Latent Diffusion
And beyond that, there are a lot of capabilities we human beings have not even touched yet:
Those may sound a bit far-out, but they are definitely possible to develop. There is enough evidence for that.
Telepathy:
The ability to communicate thoughts, feelings, or information from one mind to another without the use of conventional communication methods.
Clairvoyance:
The ability to perceive information about objects, people, places, or events through extrasensory perception, often referred to as “clear seeing.”
Precognition:
The ability to foresee or predict future events or outcomes before they occur through intuitive or psychic means.
Remote Viewing:
The ability to gather information about a distant or unseen target using extrasensory perception or “remote sensing” techniques.
Aura Reading:
The ability to perceive and interpret the energy fields or auras surrounding living beings, often believed to reflect their emotional and spiritual states.
Mediumship:
The ability to communicate with spirits, departed souls, or entities from other realms, acting as a conduit between the physical world and the spiritual plane.
Bilocation:
The ability to be present in two or more places simultaneously, often associated with advanced spiritual practitioners or mystics.
Energy Healing:
The ability to channel and manipulate subtle energy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, often used in practices like Reiki, Qi Gong, or Pranic Healing.
Past Life Regression:
The ability to access and explore past-life experiences or memories, believed to be stored in the subconscious mind or the soul.
Teleportation:
The ability to move instantaneously from one location to another without traversing the space in between, often described in mystical and mythological texts.
Psychic Sensing:
The ability to perceive information beyond the ordinary five senses, including detecting auras, spirits, or energies in the environment.
Divination:
The ability to gain insight or guidance through the interpretation of signs, symbols, or supernatural means, often used for predicting the future or making decisions.
Dreamwalking / Lucid Dreaming:
The ability to consciously enter and navigate the dreams of oneself or others, sometimes for healing, exploration, or spiritual growth..
Psychokinesis:
The ability to manipulate objects or influence the environment using the power of the mind alone, also known as telekinesis.
Psychic Surgery:
The ability to perform healing or corrective procedures on the physical or energetic body using psychic or spiritual means.
Intuition:
The ability to acquire knowledge or understanding “directly”, without conscious thinking, reasoning or the need for an explanation.
These abilities are potential aspects of human consciousness that can be developed through spiritual practice, meditation, inner work, and unlocking latent potentials within the mind and spirit.
Those abilities already develop quietly from the inside while we clear up our mind and life, refine our consciousness. This is not to be shouted out and advertised on the news or on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or otherwise. No Selfies! 😆
Some “special people”, yogis, shamans, advanced souls have always tapped into those potentials and developed them.
The key has always been and will always be:
CONSCIOUSNESS
