Beyond instinct-level Connectivity
Mental and Spiritual Telepathy & Communion
tele·pa·thy
Telepathy – from Ancient Greek (têle) ‘distant’ and (páthos/-pátheia) ‘feeling, perception, passion, affliction, experience’.
It is the indirect transmission of information from one person’s mind to another’s without using any known human sensory channels or physical interaction.
Collins English Dictionary
Literally, the term translates to “feeling from afar” or “distant feeling”.
I’d like to change it a little bit to: tele-empathy, that speaks to me a lot! 😃
em·pa·thy
Empathy: : the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another.
Merriam Webster Dictionary

In Telepathy – Part 1, we explored the foundation of telepathic communication.
That is the instinctive, gut-level knowing that operates through the first three energy centers, mainly the solar plexus and connects us to each other, to animals, plants, and to the living web of existence itself.
I understand that this kind of natural telepathy is inborn in us by evolution, it is our birthright, inherited from our animal nature, and it remains active in all of us whether we acknowledge it or not.
But the story does not end here because we are no longer purely instinctual beings, and we are not yet fully realized spiritual beings. I think we are at a threshold in our evolution as a species.
~
Nowadays humanity exists in that fascinating liminal in-between state – developing our mental capacities while simultaneously awakening to higher dimensions of consciousness.
There are two additional forms of telepathy that represent our evolutionary journey from thinking animals to spiritually awakened humans to souls who have a human experience:
Mental Telepathy & Spiritual Telepathy.
These are not just upgraded versions of instinctive knowing – they’re entirely different modes of communication, utilizing different vehicles, operating on different planes of existence, and requiring different levels of development to access.
I would like to explore these higher octaves of human communication.
Mental Telepathy
Mind to Mind Communication
Mental telepathy is the direct transmission of thought from one mind to another, without the interference of emotional content or desire.
This is the telepathy of the Mental Plane – clear, precise, and increasingly common among intellectually developed people, whether they realize it or not.
Unlike instinctive telepathy – which clairvoyants can see operating through the lower three chakras, especially the Solar Plexus and Emotional Body – mental telepathy works through the Throat Center and engages the lower mental body.
The transmitter formulates a clear thought and projects it with focused attention. The receiver, if their mind is similarly developed and attuned, registers this thought impression directly.
You may want to read more about the interconnectedness of the Person, different Energy Centers, Chakras, Auras, the various Planes of Existence and the Soul in this article.

Mental telepathy shows some distinct qualities:
Clarity over Emotion
While instinctive telepathy is underpinned and driven by feeling – like the mother who feels her child is in danger – mental telepathy is usually accomplished by clear, focussed thoughts.
It transmits ideas, concepts, and information with minimal emotional coloring.
A scientist suddenly grasping a solution that their colleague has been contemplating on another continent. Or a writer sensing the exact phrase another writer is composing. These are glimpses of mind-to-mind contact.
Mental telepathy requires a mental polarization of the person
You can’t engage in true mental telepathy if you’re living primarily in your emotional nature. This form of communication becomes possible only when a person has shifted their center of consciousness from the astral plane to the mental plane.
What does this mean in practical terms? When you can think clearly, hold your mind steady, and are not constantly affected by emotional reactions, you may be developing the capacity for mental telepathy.
Mental telepathy may involve some kind of active transmission
Unlike the often unconscious reception of instinctive impressions, mental telepathy can be directed and controlled – at least to some degree.
The trained mind can formulate a thought with precision and send it toward a specific recipient. This requires concentration, alignment, and one-pointed focus.
The Mechanics of Mental TelepathicContact
How does this actually work?
The Mental Body, that vehicle of consciousness that most people rarely even acknowledge, is composed of mental substance – just as real as physical matter, only vibrating at a higher frequency.
When you think, you are not just having abstract experiences in your brain – you’re actually moving and molding this mental substance into specific forms, so called thought-forms.
These thought-forms have shape, color, and energy. A vague, fuzzy thought creates a vague, fuzzy thoughtform. A clear, powerful idea generates a crisp, vibrant form in “mental matter”.
Clairvoyant people who have mastered the mental level consciousness actually see those thought-forms as having a “energetic gestalt.”
In mental telepathy, the sender creates such a thought-form and then – using will and intention – “sends” it toward the receiver.
If the receiver’s mental body is active, if they’re on a similar “wavelength”, the thought-form makes an impression on their mind. They suddenly “have a thought” – except it didn’t originate with them at all.
This happens far more frequently than we may realize. That sudden insight, that unexpected solution, that perfect phrase that seems to arrive fully formed – where did it come from?
Sometimes they may come from our own higher self. But sometimes they are impressed upon us telepathically by another mind, who is working in the mental realm.
Who experiences Mental Telepathy unconsciously?
Scientists, mathematicians, writers, philosophers, and anyone whose work requires sustained mental focus often stumble into mental telepathy without recognizing it.
There’s a reason why major discoveries are often made simultaneously in different parts of the world – multiple minds tuning into the same current of thought in the collective mental atmosphere, the collective consciousness of humanity.
Such strange synchronicities have happened in science as well as in the arts, when similar themes emerge across different creators who have no contact with each other.
Obviously – at least for me – this isn’t a coincidence at all. It’s multiple minds drawing from – and contributing to – the same pool of mental substance, the same field of ideas.
But mental telepathy has its limitations. It’s still personal, more often than not involving the ego of the sender. It still operates within the realm of individual minds, let’s assume and hope that they are higher developed ones. It can transmit information, but it cannot convey the deeper wisdom that lies beyond the reasoning mind.
~
A word of warning
Personally, I am not a big fan of the idea of people using this kind of mental telepathy in a non-spiritually motivated way. Creating all kinds of thought forms that keep present in the mental realm and influencing other people’s minds.
In the past this has been misused in the worst ways by people practicing Black Magic to cast spells and curses. It has been done even by the CIA and other Secret Services with the intent of influencing enemies. Or conducting mind-reading – spying on other people’s mind with extra-sensory means.
The ethical and karmic consequences of such acts that go against spiritual law should be seriously considered.
The touchstone in the use of mental telepathy has to be the context and the intent and motivation of the sender.
If done with a pure intention, at least one should ask the recipients higher self for agreement, before sending such mental messages.
Or even address the message directly to his/her soul and be not attached to the outcome of the act.
At least, thats how I see it.

My interest is squarely at the highest levels of telepathic connection.
Spiritual Telepathy
The Soul’s Communication
Here we enter a territory that sounds rather mythical, but should be the most natural thing in the world. Once we have developed the capacity and sensitivity to register it, we will hopefully all be communicating on such level. I really hope!
Spiritual telepathy is not mind-to-mind communication.
It is soul-to-soul contact, and it operates on an entirely different level of reality: the intuitive plane or Buddhic plane, the realm of pure knowing that transcends logical thought.
This is the telepathy of the mystics, the prophets, the genuine spiritual teachers. It’s how the great religious texts were received, how inspired art is created, how breakthroughs in understanding and realization arrive fully formed.
Not arrived to by cognitive reasoning, but downloaded in a flash of illumination.
The Three Threads of Connection
To understand spiritual telepathy, we need to grasp something about our own structure as human beings. We’re not just bodies with minds. We’re far more complex.
According to esoteric teaching, we’re connected to our souls (that higher, divine aspect of ourselves) through specific energy pathways or “threads”:
The Life Thread — anchored in the heart, this is what keeps you alive. When it’s withdrawn, death occurs.
The Consciousness Thread — anchored in the head, this is your awareness, your sense of “I am.”
The Creative Thread — anchored in the throat, this forms when you become creative, when you begin to build and express something of value in the world.
When these three threads are active and aligned, we have the beginnings of what’s called the Antahkarana—the Rainbow Bridge—the conscious connection between the personality (the everyday self) and the soul (the higher self).
Spiritual telepathy flows across this bridge.

How Spiritual Telepathy Differs from Mental Telepathy
What makes this distinct from mental telepathy:
The Source
Mental telepathy involves human minds. Spiritual telepathy involves contact with your own soul, with the souls of others, with guides and teachers operating on higher planes, and ultimately with what various traditions call the Universal Mind, Divine Intelligence, or the Mind of God.
The Quality
Mental impressions arrive as thoughts, concepts, ideas to be understood. Spiritual impressions arrive as knowing – immediate, certain, enlightening. Often accompanied by a sense of rightness and illumination.
You don’t have to figure them out; you recognize them as truth.
The Mechanism
Mental telepathy uses the throat center and the lower mind. Spiritual telepathy involves the higher centers – particularly the ajna center between the eyebrows, and the crown center at the top of the head – and requires that the antahkarana, that bridge to the soul, be built or at least under construction.
The Purpose of Spiritual Telepathy
Mental telepathy can serve any purpose – sharing information, coordinating activity, even manipulation if used selfishly.
Spiritual telepathy is inherently connected to service, to love, to the unfoldment of the Divine Plan. It comes with a built-in compass pointing toward the highest good.

The Science of Impression
In some of the deeper esoteric teachings, there’s a more technical name for spiritual telepathy: the Science of Impression.
This science concerns itself with how higher consciousness impresses lower consciousness, how the soul impresses the personality, how the Spiritual Hierarchy – that community of enlightened beings guiding human evolution – impresses disciples and aspirants, and ultimately how Divine Purpose impresses all of manifestation.
It can be visualized as a downward flow of spiritual light and love and power – from the highest sources, stepping down through various levels, until it can be registered by prepared human consciousness and brought into practical expression in the world.
This is not a passive reception. It requires preparation, purification, alignment, and something the old texts call “holding the mind steady in the light.”
The soul won’t force its way into our awareness. The higher worlds don’t shout.
Those messages whisper, and we must become very still – mentally, emotionally, physically – to hear them.

~
The Process of Reception
When spiritual telepathy occurs, it comes in a sequence:
Impression on the Soul
First, the soul itself receives an impression from higher sources – from the Spiritual Triad (the threefold expression of your divine essence), from the Masters of Wisdom, from the realm of pure ideas.
The soul acts as a transformer, a step-down transformer of the vibration.
Transmission to the Mind
The soul then impresses this upon the abstract mind—that aspect of mental functioning that deals with universal principles rather than concrete details. This is where the impression begins to take form, but it’s still not in words or images yet.
It’s more like… a seed of knowing.
Formulation in the Concrete Mind
Next, the abstract knowing has to be translated into the concrete mind – the thinking mind we use every day. This is where it takes on the form of actual thoughts, concepts that can be worked with, understood and articulated.
Registration in the Brain
Finally, the impression reaches the physical brain and becomes conscious awareness. You suddenly “know” something you didn’t know before. You have an insight, a revelation, a clear vision of something that was previously hidden.
This entire process can happen in an instant – that flash of enlightening insight – or it can unfold over hours, days, even years as you gradually integrate and understand what has been given.
~
~~
~
The Problem of Interference
The weak link in this chain is usually between the soul and the brain. The impression comes through pure and clear from the soul, but by the time it reaches conscious awareness, it’s been colored, distorted, or completely blocked by various factors:
Emotional static — If your astral body is full with desires, fears, or emotional reactions, it acts like a distorting lens. The pure impression gets filtered through our emotional state and comes out in some garbled or distorted way.
Mental preconceptions — If your mind is filled with fixed beliefs, rigid thoughts, cherished theories, these act like a wall. The impression can’t get through, or it gets twisted to fit your existing mental framework.
Personality interference — Your ego, your sense of self-importance, your desire to be special or to receive messages—all of this contaminates the reception. This is why so many people who claim to be receiving divine guidance are actually just channeling their own subconscious material.
How can we avoid such interference?
Spiritual teachings speak about “Purity of the vehicle”.
This is not about moral purity in some religious or puritanian sense. It’s about having a clear, clean, still mental and emotional body—a channel that doesn’t distort the transmission.
This is why every spiritual tradition emphasizes meditation, contemplation, and the cultivation of virtues.
Not because God demands good behavior, but because these practices purify and align the vehicles of consciousness, making spiritual telepathy possible.

Examples of Spiritual Telepathy
The Religious Scriptures
How were the world’s great scriptures received?
I think they came to us by way of spiritual telepathy.
The Vedas of India are called shruti—”that which is heard.” The ancient seers didn’t compose these texts through intellectual effort. They received them, heard them, in states of deep meditation and alignment with higher consciousness.
Moses on Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments – this sounds to me like spiritual telepathy. The Biblical account even mentions that his face shone afterward, radiant with the higher energies he’d contacted.
Muhammad receiving the Quran through the angel Gabriel over 23 years – spiritual telepathy, with the angel being the intermediary between Divine Consciousness and Muhammad’s prepared mind.
The Bhagavad Gita, given to Arjuna by Krishna on the battlefield is a perfect example of a teacher – Krishna, representing the soul – impressing spiritual truth upon a prepared disciple – Arjuna, representing the aspiring personality.
Creative Genius
As far as I know, composers like Brahms, Wagner, Puccini, Mozart they all described receiving their music not through mental effort but through connection with something higher.
Brahms explicitly called it “communicating with the infinite.” He would enter a meditative state, feel “vibrations which thrill my whole being,” and then the music would appear -“measure by measure, the finished product is revealed to me.”
Rilke, the poet, spoke of receiving entire poems in one sitting, writing furiously to capture what was being given to him.
Einstein’s theory of relativity didn’t come through logical deduction. He described it as “a storm breaking loose in my mind” – a sudden, complete vision of how space-time actually works, given in an instant of illumination.
These are no accidents or flukes. They demonstrate what becomes possible when a prepared mind, aligned with higher consciousness, becomes receptive to spiritual impression.
The Modern Revelations
The 19th and 20th centuries saw an unusual outpouring of spiritual teachings, many received telepathically:
Helena Blavatsky and The Secret Doctrine—received from Tibetan Masters through a combination of mental and spiritual telepathy.
Alice Bailey’s 24 books written in collaboration with “The Tibetan” Djwal Khul – a 30-year project of conscious spiritual telepathy, where Bailey would enter a meditative state and “take dictation” from a higher source.
Helena Roerich and the Agni Yoga series – similarly received from the Spiritual Master Morya.
Jane Roberts and the Seth Material—a modern example of sustained telepathic contact with a non-physical teacher.
We may agree with those teachings or not, but the method of their reception is consistent: a prepared individual, in a state of alignment and receptivity, receiving impression from a source beyond their personal consciousness.
I would call that Spiritual Telepathy.

The Preparation that is Required for Spiritual Telepathy
How does one develop the capacity for spiritual telepathy?
The answer is not what most people want to hear, because it doesn’t involve special techniques or secret practices.
It involves becoming a certain kind of person.
Soul Contact
I can’t receive impressions from my soul if I have no connection to my soul.
This means developing that link through meditation, through service, through the alignment of your personality with your higher purpose.
It means learning to recognize the difference between the voice of my ego – which is loud and insistent most of the time. – and the voice of my soul – which is quiet and certain – the still small voice in my heart.
Mental Development
I need a trained mind.
Not necessarily an intellectual mind crammed with information, but a mind that can focus, that can hold a steady open attention, that can discriminate between truth and illusion.
The practice of concentration and meditation develops this capacity.
Emotional Clarity
Your emotional body must be relatively calm and pure.
Not emotionless – the soul has tremendous depth of feeling, deeper than any personal emotion. But not agitated with personal desires, fears, and reactions that cloud direct perception.
A Life of Service
Spiritual telepathy is inherently connected to service to mankind and all life.
The impressions that come through this channel are meant to be used to help others, to bring light into the world, to contribute to human evolution.
If my motive is personal gain or spiritual inflation, I simply won’t receive genuine spiritual impressions. My own personality will block them, and I will end up channeling my own subconscious instead.
Patience and Humility
This whole evolutionary development doesn’t happen overnight.
Building the antahkarana, purifying the vehicles, developing the capacity for spiritual reception, this is the work of lifetimes. Anyone who tells you they’ve mastered it in a weekend workshop is either deluded or trying to sell you something.
Unfortunately Youtube is quite full with such superficial and deluded promises.
And even when you do develop this capacity, humility is essential.
The moment I think “I am special because I am receiving divine messages, I am more advanced than others” ….. that’s my ego speaking, and the genuine spiritual impressions will cease.
They will be replaced by my own inflated subconscious material dressed up as spiritual guidance.

Telepathy – A Synthesis
The three levels of Telepathy in perspective
Instinctive Telepathy connects us to the animal kingdom, to the emotional realm, the plat kingdom, to the web of life.
It’s the foundation, the most ancient layer. It operates through the solar plexus and uses emotional/etheric substance as its medium. Most of humanity functions at this level.
Mental Telepathy connects us to each other as thinking beings, to the realm of ideas, to the collective mental field of humanity.
It operates through the throat center and uses mental substance as its medium. Intellectually developed people and creative individuals often operate at this level.
Spiritual Telepathy connects us to our souls, to the Spiritual Hierarchy, to Divine Intelligence itself.
It operates through the higher centers – ajna and crown chakras – and uses the substance of the intuitive plane as its medium.
Mystics, genuine spiritual teachers, and those consciously walking the path of return operate at this level.
These are not separate, incompatible levels or systems. They are evolutionary stages, layers of an expanding capacity for communication and consciousness.
You don’t lose instinctive telepathy when you develop mental telepathy. You don’t abandon mental telepathy when you awaken to spiritual telepathy.
You integrate them. You have access to all three, and you use whichever is appropriate for the situation.
A mother still feels her child’s distress through instinctive telepathy, even if she’s also capable of profound spiritual communion.
A scientist can work with mental telepathy in the laboratory and then enter meditation and receive spiritual inspiration about the deeper meaning of their discoveries.
The goal is nott to transcend our humanity but to bring divinity into full expression through our humanity. To be fully human and fully divine, simultaneously.

The Promise and the Path onward
I feel that we live in a strange time. Technology has given us instant communication across the globe—text, voice, video, all at the speed of light.
And yet, paradoxically, we’ve never been more disconnected from each other, more isolated in our individual bubbles of perception.
The development of telepathy – all three forms of it – offers something technology never can: a genuine connection.
Not just the transmission of information, but the sharing of consciousness itself. The direct knowing of another being, mind-to-mind and soul-to-soul.
This isn’t science fiction. It’s not even especially esoteric. It is simply the next stage of human development, already happening in the more sensitive and advanced members of our species.
And I am sure that it is destined to become normal, natural, and widespread as humanity continues to evolve.
But it requires something from us. It requires that we do the work – the inner work of purification, alignment, and development.
It requires that we become more than we are, that we grow beyond our current limitations, that we reach toward the divine potential that lies dormant within us.
The path is laid out. The techniques are known. The goal is obvious.
The question is: are we willing to walk it?
The web of light is already there, connecting all minds, all souls. We’re not building something new—we’re learning to use what has always existed.
Telepathy isn’t a strange power to be developed. It’s our natural birthright, waiting to be claimed.

A Final Note about “The Innernet”
In Part 1, I called telepathy “The Innernet”—that natural system of consciousness-based communication that predates and will outlast the Internet.
Now maybe you can see why that name is not just a laughable phantasy of my mind .
The Internet connects computers through wires and wireless signals, allowing the transfer of data. No question that it is a technological marvel. And I love it.
But the “Innernet” connects beings through the fabric of consciousness itself. It allows the transfer not just of data, but of understanding, of knowing, of love and wisdom and power.
When the electrical grid fails, when satellites fall, when all our technology collapses ….. the Innernet will still be operating.
Because it operates through consciousness, through the etheric web that underlies all physical reality, through the connection that exists between all living things at the deepest levels.
And unlike the Internet, you can’t hack it, censor it, or shut it down.
You can only attune to it, or ignore it.
The choice is mine and yours.

May all beings be connected in the light of understanding.
