The red lines we already crossed
2025 years ago—or so the theologians and scholars say—Jesus came to Earth to offer his life to save humanity’s soul.
It is the year 2025 now, and I feel the soul of humanity is in danger of being doomed, if it is not already too late. The signs are many, and they are written on the wall.
There are red lines—at least in my understanding—that have already been crossed.
Line 1
Genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza
by the State of Israel.

Deliberate destruction of the whole
infrastructure of the Gaza Strip.
Deliberate continued displacement
of more than 2 million civilians.
Deliberate killing and maiming of civilians:
• Confirmed killed: at least 59,676 people, including at least 17,400 children
• Injured: at least 143,965 people
Deliberate starvation of the Gaza population by withholding readily available aid.
Starvation of the population, especially the 1 million children, will do long-lasting damage to future generations.
In practical and brutal terms, Israel has transformed the Gaza Strip into a concentration camp for 2.1 million people, with free rein to bomb, kill, maim, and starve—and ultimately empty the Gaza Strip of its Palestinian population. At least, that is the plan, spoken or unspoken.
And Donald Trump’s cynical idea of developing luxury resorts on the Gaza Coastline speaks for itself.
If that is not a definition of genocide, then I do not know what is.
And all of that with daily coverage in the New York Times, Reuters, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, CNN, and the rest of the media. With the whole world watching, but not really doing anything significant to stop it, to prevent it, to condemn it in the loudest possible ways. Words of concern, words of sadness, even words of outrage may be heard—but no determined action from the ones who would have the power.

“The international community’s seismic, shameful failure to press Israel to end its atrocities in Gaza, by first delaying calls for a ceasefire and then continuing arms transfers, is and will remain a stain on our collective conscience.” — Amnesty International.
We should not speak of a little stain on our collective conscience, but rather of a full-on collective guilt for the complete failure of compassion, empathy, and collective action—standing up, speaking out, and not accepting something that is so, so wrong.
Such looking away, blocking out, rationalizing by the affluent, civilized, educated, highly informed population of this world is simply unforgivable. It will be a trauma buried in our subconscious forever. Our collective karma will need to be addressed one day for sure.
I just hope Jesus the Christ is still willing to speak to God on our behalf:
“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.”
Line 2
Using deregulation of Artificial Intelligence to win the AGI race at all cost and become the AI World Power Number One.
Need I say more?
The most powerful technology next to the nuclear bomb in the hands of an authoritarian government—or two.
Not only do the technology barons and giant corporations have the keys to the AI kingdom, but now Trump and Xi bring the race to a whole new, world-level stage.
We have not seen half of it—I am sure of that. Besides a huge potential for innovation and benevolent application for the betterment of human endeavors in medicine and science, Artificial Intelligence has a dark side when it comes into the hands of the wrong people.
One of Amazon’s gigantic AI Data Centers
Just like Viktor Frankenstein before us, we—most of us, the masses—do not know what we are talking about when we talk about Artificial General Intelligence, the promised Superintelligence.
Only a future generation will see where this ends.

I do not know if God will look lovingly on us when we pretend that we can play little gods.
Line 3
“Climate change is a hoax.”
Yes, this would be nice, but I am afraid that this sentence is fake news.
Every serious climate scientist and climate institution has put out warning after warning—over years and years—about tipping points concerning the warming of the globe, the destabilization of the natural environment, the massive dying off of species, the melting of our age-old glaciers…
Every climate treaty has pledged serious political will and effort to stop the ever-accelerating “speed train of climate doom.” And almost every such promise has not been fulfilled.

We know the state of affairs in 2025, because we see the pictures on TV every day: forest fires, heatwaves, droughts, floods, tornados, rising ocean levels, climate anxiety.
Disorientation and confusion among the young people
who will inherit the Earth.
Maybe they just would like to keep their eyes closed, like the majority of us grownups. Maybe they just would like to party on, pretending all is well.
I might even understand this temptation…

Because, what really could we do, we little people?
Maybe it is already too late. Maybe the red lines are crossed. Maybe the speed train is already on its way, accelerating.
When I go inside, consider the whole planetary scenery and us humans, I feel that I have no option but to raise my small voice, to give my energy in my little ways, to be uncomfortable, to awaken, to inform, to inspire…
If I can do that—if I can make a difference in the conscience of one person, in the consciousness of some ..
I will be as happy as a dog!
