The whole is more than the sum of its parts.
Sometimes I marvel at the many facets of my Self, myself. Sometimes I wonder what a true 21st-century renaissance person would look like. I do not know any contemporary Michelangelo or Leonardo da Vinci type person around. Sure, there are lots of brilliant specialists, but …
So I can only try to figure out myself, examine my areas of focus and interest and my tendencies and aspirations. And see what my “whole being” indicates in the context of the wider world of “human being-ness.”
Honestly, see if I am making a dent in the fabric of collective consciousness. Or not.
I can see three distinct areas of interest in my life, not only nowadays but for most of my adult life. Areas or spheres or realms or domains—I do not know exactly how to name this—where I spend a lot of my time, where I invest a lot of my energy and attention, where I can see in retrospect my progress, development and growth, where I feel alive and myself.
So, what are those domains?
I. Who Am I at the Core?
Surely, first and foremost there is the “inner growth” aspect of me, the holistic development of my person, the spiritual growth as a soul and my unshakable grounding in what I call my “center of gravity.”
Maybe I can call this my identity. It is the “Who Am I at the Core.”
Without going too much into metaphysics and spiritual terminology here, I see everything that is essential for me as qualities living in this domain: Love, empathy, sensitivity, curiosity, Beauty, goodwill, honesty, humility, Truth. With emphasis on those qualities I can live through anything life throws at me or work through any karma I have to work out in order to mature.
With those qualities firmly at my core, I look outside myself into the world and see the second major aspect of me, my second domain of interest:
II. What Can I Do in the Outer World?
It is actually not so much what I am doing—this really changes over time and has changed over and over again during my lifetime. I am more interested in examining the skills I have learned and developed and the technologies I was and still am interested in. Because they are like my hands and feet to move and act capably in the world and have the personal power to do things.
In my life this has often had to do with technology, learning specific skills that enable me to express certain ideas and ideals that are rooted in my core. Simple examples are:
•to learn to drive, so I can move around independently in the world
•to play guitar to be able to express emotionally through song and music
•to cook healthy food to feed my body well
•to use a chainsaw, hammer, drill and all the other machinery to do carpentry and fine woodwork to make real and useful things
•to understand the inner workings of electronic circuitry in order to understand and maybe repair all the gadgetry I am constantly using nowadays—to be on top of the technological tsunami that is happening to us
•to master the “art of using computers” as “machines of empowerment”
•to learn and master some kind of code languages that are necessary to do things like web design, advanced use of internet technology, etc.
•to use the internet technologies, from SMS to email to chat apps to social media apps to the WWW apps to the deep web in order to communicate, be informed and have access to all the knowledge I may need or be interested in
•to master computers through a lot of learning and mastering of all kinds of applications
Applications like Photoshop for graphic design, code applications for web design and application coding, specialized programs like Processing, Flash, TouchDesigner for interactive art-making, music production applications like VCV Rack for sound making, Kontakt instruments for playing “sampled real life instruments” on my MIDI keyboard, and so on.
The list is long and I have approximately 350 or so applications on my MacBook that I can somehow intuitively handle if I need one such app for a specific task.
What I want to say with that: I have learned to use technologies to enable me to do things in the world, to give me autonomy, so I do not need to outsource every task to a specialist, that I can do things myself without hiring a professional or asking a knowledgeable friend for help.

Into this domain now comes a new technology that I feel is rather extraordinary and will be a game changer in many ways: Artificial Intelligence and its emerging cousins of embodied AI, aka robotics. And ultimately the emergence of AGI, Artificial General Intelligence. Our very own “21st-century Frankenstein.”
This technology has emerged from relative obscurity and is moving ahead like a high-speed train, and I realized early on that it will revolutionize many areas of life even in my lifetime. The ground is already shifting and will do so with exponential speed.
So, in the domain of skills, which I may call “outer technologies,” AI has become my presently favorite area of awareness and learning-by-doing.

I am very aware of the limitations, dangers and dependencies of technology, especially electronic technology that is always dependent on electricity. And I am aware that advanced technology is always changing and in some ways a trap, a rabbit hole, a vortex that sucks time and attention to the detriment of other “more human” endeavors.
I try to be conscious of that and keep a balance with my core domain, that I have already mentioned above.
And then come the “inner technologies,” a most fascinating realm that I am more and more aware of.
III. What Can I Do in my Inner World?
My own brain, my own biological neural network, my mind, my consciousness, my soul, my spirit.
Although we humans have the most advanced organic computer inside our head and ultimately we are souls walking around with a more or less sophisticated mind/psyche in an amazing vehicle we call “my body,” most of all of that mystery we use unconsciously and by default.
Generally speaking, we do not know very much about this miracle we call human being. That is “Us.”
I ask myself: why not take all my time, energy, effort and focus to develop this “most amazing biological computer in my head” that I carry around with me every day—to the maximum of my ability?
Not just use only about 10% of its capacity!
I do not need a billion dollars of investment to do that, I do not need a startup, I do not need to make a business out of it.
I just need a yearning, a curiosity, a focus, a path, a diligent practice …
A lot of qualities and abilities are still waiting, slumbering, waiting to be uncovered and mastered.
Even teleportation (maybe ;). No rocket ships needed.
But seriously, there are a lot of capabilities we human beings have not even touched yet:
Telepathy:
The ability to communicate thoughts, feelings, or information from one mind to another without the use of conventional communication methods.
Clairvoyance:
The ability to perceive information about objects, people, places, or events through extrasensory perception, often referred to as “clear seeing.”
Precognition:
The ability to foresee or predict future events or outcomes before they occur through intuitive or psychic means.
Psychokinesis:
The ability to manipulate objects or influence the environment using the power of the mind alone, also known as telekinesis.
Remote Viewing:
The ability to gather information about a distant or unseen target using extrasensory perception or “remote sensing” techniques.
Aura Reading:
The ability to perceive and interpret the energy fields or auras surrounding living beings, often believed to reflect their emotional and spiritual states.
Mediumship:
The ability to communicate with spirits, departed souls, or entities from other realms, acting as a conduit between the physical world and the spiritual plane.
Bilocation:
The ability to be present in two or more places simultaneously, often associated with advanced spiritual practitioners or mystics.
Energy Healing:
The ability to channel and manipulate subtle energy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, often used in practices like Reiki, Qi Gong, or Pranic Healing.
Past Life Regression:
The ability to access and explore past-life experiences or memories, believed to be stored in the subconscious mind or the soul, in order to better understand the personal challenges that we face today as a result of our personal and collective Karma.
Teleportation:
The ability to move instantaneously from one location to another without traversing the space in between, often described in mystical and mythological texts.
Psychic Sensing:
The ability to perceive information beyond the ordinary five senses, including detecting auras, spirits, or energies in the environment.
Divination:
The ability to gain insight or guidance through the interpretation of signs, symbols, or supernatural means, often used for predicting the future or making decisions.
Dreamwalking/Lucid Dreaming:
The ability to consciously enter and navigate the dreams of oneself or others, sometimes for healing, exploration, or spiritual growth.
Psychic Surgery:
The ability to perform healing or corrective procedures on the physical or energetic body using psychic or spiritual means.
Intuition:
The ability to acquire knowledge or understanding “directly,” without conscious thinking, reasoning or the need for an explanation.
My all-time-favorite💡!
Those abilities are potential aspects of human consciousness that can be developed through spiritual practice, meditation, inner work, and unlocking latent potentials within the mind and spirit. Such abilities develop quietly while we clear up our mind and life, refine our consciousness.
This is not something to be shouted out and advertised on the news or monetized on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or otherwise. No Selfies! 😆
Some “special people,” yogis, shamans, holy people, advanced souls have always tapped into those potentials and developed them.
The keys to the kingdom have always been and will always be:
CONSCIOUSNESS
LOVE
GOD
