Visual Arts / Beauty / Playfulness

The Visual Arts – together with Poetry and Music – are powerful antidotes for me to counter the effect of our humanity’s current predicament and the general uncertainty and bleakness of the world’s affairs.

I deeply believe in Beauty

In The Beautiful, The True and the Good

In making Art that represents those qualities of Soul

It is also said that “The Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder”.

I guess that means that the experience of beauty is subjective, maybe each of us finds something else beautiful.

But for me it also means that i will only be able to perceive something outside of me as beautiful if i have beauty inside of me, in my soul.

And to get in touch with that, should be the whole point of making art – for me.

For me, The Beauty comes to me in many forms and ways.

I see her in small everyday things of life all the time.

They are easy to catch with my camera.

Even with my cheap phone’s camera

;  )

And i see The Beauty in the really big things.

Not so easy to put that into the frame!

Some Beauty comes along very subtle.

While some is very obvious.

And sometimes i need to look deeper beyond the surface.

But always – or mostly – i can find The Beauty, The Muse.
Thats the blessing of a camera for me.

It does the magic of focussing my eye … to see The Beauty in many forms.

We may also call Her … The Goddess, feminine aspect of the Source.

Others are able to paint and express their vision of Her with their brush strokes.

Sometimes i regret that i never learned to draw or paint on such high level.

But i learned to “code art” for the web, or lets say i played with such technologies (Javascript & Adobe Actionscript) to create playful, self-generative and often interactive pieces.

Which was great fun (for a while ;  )

This is not meant for mobile phone screens!)

Obviously, the emphasis here is on Playfulness :  )
