a song of love and gratitude
or
how to not take things for guaranteed
we humans are funny creatures,
i have to say!
we want things
we have things
we love things …
and then – as time goes by – we take those very things for granted.
More often than not we notice those things, people, and blessings only when they all of a sudden disappear and are not there anymore.
Let’s not do that anymore!!!
Let’s start a great Love&Gratitude Project in our life.
Here is my song!
(improvised)
a song of love and gratitude
I love my MacBook Pro.
Thank you, Steve (Jobs), for dreaming up such a perfect companion for me. And all the many brilliant engineers, programmers and assembler line workers who have created it.
Big feeling of gratitude!
I love the internet.
Thank you, Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee, for inventing it way back in 1990 and giving it to all of us for free. And for the multitudes of unnamed heroes who make it humming every day.
Big appreciation!
I love you, sunshine, and the feeling of warmth on my shoulder that you bring – almost every day here in Costa Rica. And also that you make life and all possible here on Earth.
Thank you, God, great job!!!
I love the blue sky that greets me most mornings. I love the many shades of blue that it can take on.
Thanks to you, Atmosphere, you are a great painter!
I love you, squirrels in the tree in front of my house. You make me feel lighthearted and grateful and funny-looking.
Thanks for evolution and the maker of such creatures for you!
I love you my true soulmate friends!
Thank you for not being just friends in name. For being soulmates that don’t disappear as time goes by.
I love electricity.
Thank you Edison, Nikolas Tesla and all you smart-asses for learning from nature’s lightnings and giving us a steady flow of juice coming from the wall sockets. So we can do all the things we do all day long – powered by electricity.
I love you, water.
Thank you for being such a miracle-of-many-forms. I love you as snowflakes and as rainstorm and as ice and ocean, the rivers, the lakes. And also as a steady flow from my kitchen faucet, my morning shower, and my garden hose. Thanks to multitudes that make this happen every day, all around the world.
I love the Big Bang, that supposedly started all of it – or maybe not ; )
Thank you, you infinite, un-name-able creator of it all, for initiating this Lila, this cosmic dance of manifest life.
What shall I say, since you are infinity and beyond, my gratitude and appreciation for all-that-is shall be infinite.
I love all the forces, the archetypal energy forms, the spirits and beings of higher dimensions that eyes can not see but my intuition can know.
I am infinitely thankful that you are, so the world that we can see, feel, taste and have is not everything there is.
Thank you for being so so much more than that. Behind our veil of ignorance!
I love my quiet, peaceful state of mind.
Thank you God/evolution/chance for providing us humans with a mind that has such a scope in consciousness, able to dwell in so many levels and states up and down the vibrational ladder.
Thank you too, Bhavana, for teaching me Vipassana meditation. Already way back when? Seems like eons ago!
Forever grateful for showing me a method to keep my mind awake, alert, open and in perfect equanimity. Open to Soul and Spirit.
I love you, women!
Thank you, you beautiful, graceful, mother-souls, you who are bringing everyone into the world. And then holding it all together.
Thank you for being beautiful, for being the muse and the lover and the hearth of all the families on Earth.
Thank you for still keeping up with us ignorant males and for kicking us in the ass when we are just too much!
Muchas gracias comadres!
I love what I know and learn every day.
Thank you my various teachers, technical, philosophical, spiritual and practical ones for passing on what you know. Also all the books, internet pages, Wikipedia of course, and some of the YouTube documentaries that generously helped to expand my scope of understanding of this world and beyond.
I love my intuition!
Thank you, whoever gave me this ability. And thank you myself for discovering, developing, cultivating, embodying this priceless ability to know things that I should actually not being able to know by regular thinking and studying.
I love my capacity to love.
My growing, open, integrative heart. My ability and willingness for empathy, compassion and unconditional love.
Of all the blessings that I could name, this is without a doubt the most ultimate gift I could ever receive.
Thank you, God, who-or-whatever you may be.
My guess is that you are LOVE.
