drawn to poetry

i am drawn to poetry

expressing all the finer things

always in awe

of the sublime

the essential

~~~
the awesome power of the word
i respect it
i know it
i wield it
i respect it
the awesome power of the word
~~~

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made……

The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao
The name that can be named is not the eternal name
The nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth
The named is the mother of myriad things

those are powerful words

deep words

they resonate

on all kinds of levels

far beyond the intellectual understanding

that is why I love the words

they can be so precise if I want them to be

precious for communication

and mutual understanding

they can also carry deeper meanings

symbolic, archetypal meanings

subtly associative meanings

they can inspire and

they can trigger and awaken

but most interesting for me …

the words, even written words long ago,

carry the vibration of the one who thought them

depending on the depth of this person’s soul

those words can also bring my soul

to resonate

poetry is a way with words that goes beyond the everyday use of language and the practicalities of writing

it can condense and convey meaning beyond trying to explain something intellectually

it can talk of something and mean

something completely

different

good poetry is a mysterious symbolic language

poetry is not literal (at least the poetry i love)

but it is highly symbolic

everything you touch you change

everything you change changes you

herein lies the power

of living fully

~~~
there is nothing better than to be touched
when the hairs stand up on my forearms
when tears well up unexpected
when my soul calls
out of the blue
i don’t pretend to be a poet ;  )
although i would like to be one
but still i love to write in poetic form
unhindered by the laws of grammar and punctuation
i let my words twist and turn and tumble onto the page
while i allow my inner self to express
anything thats important to me
~~~

the poetry

of everyday things

the beauty

of a young child

playing

or of washing

the dishes

with care

the sounds of

howler monkeys

deep in the jungle

and the noises the village makes

on every new morning

thats real poetry to me

I asked “my good friend” the chatGPT Artificial Intelligence to tell me what he thinks about poetry ;  )

Hi friend, tell me what is poetry.

Poetry is a form of literary expression that uses language to evoke emotions, sensations, and imagery in a concentrated and imaginative way. It often uses figurative language, such as metaphors and similes, to create powerful and evocative images and ideas.

Poetry can take many different forms, from sonnets and haikus to free verse and spoken word. It can be written to convey a range of emotions, from love and joy to sadness and grief. Poetry often uses rhythm, rhyme, and repetition to create a musical and memorable quality.

Some of the most famous poets throughout history include William Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, and Robert Frost. Poetry has the power to move and inspire people, and it continues to be an important part of literature and culture today.

Paper is patient ;  )

Sometimes the words come easily.

Sometimes they don’t.

And thats fine with me.
